SSDI Awards Continue to Decline Nationwide
Despite recent media reports that the SSDI program is growing at an out-of-control pace, SSA statistics prove otherwise. The amount of applicants actually awarded SSDI benefits continues to trend downward. In fact, each of the first three quarters in calendar year 2013 produced the lowest amount of SSDI awards in the past few years. And the fourth quarter of 2013 is trending even lower, as October and November award totals were the lowest monthly amounts in over a year.
